Company of Heroes storming the front in 2013

Great news for PC gamers, THQ has confirmed that Company of Heroes 2 will be storming the beaches in early 2013.

The sequel to the critically-acclaimed 2006 RTS title will leave the Western front and put players in control of the Russian Red Army as they hold off against the Nazi attacks.

Relic will be using the "state of the are" Essence 3.0 Engine, brining gorgeous environmental destruction along with it.

Company of Heroes 2 is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology. While retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroessuch a success." - Greg Wilson, Relic

THQ won't be showing CoH 2 at E3 due to financial restraints, but we'll be sure to pester them until we get to see the game in the flesh.

Lol guyver. Best news I've heard for a while! :P
Strategy game, eh? It's arguable that there was any strategy involved in the Eastern Front at all for the majority of the war. It was more of a throw-bodies-into-the-guns-to-slow-the-Germans-down dealy until they started massing for Operation Uranus. Nowadays people say that it was a 'defence in depth', but I think Stalin was just being a dick and not listening to his generals.

You do realise the 'throw-bodies-into-the-guns-to-slow-the-germans-down' strategy is pretty much all Scott does anyway? ;)
