When EA's Origin service was launched, Crysis 2 was quickly removed from the Steam store. According to EA the game was "expelled" due to a separate agreement with another digital download service, which apparently violated new rules from Steam.
However that seems to be a non-issue right now, as the game crawls back onto Steam with a new edition. Crysis 2: Maximum Edition will set you back $40, but it comes with all the existing multiplayer DLC.
"But I already bought Crysis 2 on Steam before it was pulled!" I hear some of your scream. Well EA have decided to allow you to upgrade for 50% of the cost, ain't that generous!
Here's a feature list for those of you thinking about picking this up:
- Bonus XP – Access to preset classes plus a custom class
- Scar weapon Skin – Scar assault rifle digital camouflage
- Weapon Attachment – Day 1 access to scar hologram decoy
- Unique Platinum Dog Tag – Display your multiplayer rank and stats
- Nine additional multiplayer maps supporting all game modes
- Two new weapons – FY71 Assault Rifle and M18 Smoke Grenade
Crysis 2: Maximum Edition also launched on EA's Origin service today.
