Electronic Arts (EA) is planning to take the acclaimed Dead Space series in a new direction, with a first-person shooter and flight game on the agenda.
The series will eventually return to its third-person roots with an action-heavy 'Uncharted in space' game, which sounds awesome, but certainly distances the series away from its survival-horror roots of the first game.
The publisher believes the series has underperformed sales wise, and is looking to shake things up with a few new directions.
Rumours were swirling earlier this year about Dead Space 3, suggesting a setting on an icy planet, certainly removed from the "dead space", dark, eerie setting of the first two games.
