Wondering why you can't get into your Diablo III beta? Turns out users discovered a glitch that allowed anyone with a Battle.net account access to the game.
Community manager "Nethaera" said that an update on the outages will be issued sometime soon, but until then the beta is currently unavailable until further notice.
According to Ars Technica, a glitch inadvertently allowed free access to something called the "Starter Edition" of Diablo III to anyone with a Battle.net account, even if they had no previous beta access.
The possibility of free Diablo III is exciting enough, but it was also reported that the Starter Edition had all the same features that the current beta users have, but occasionally asked players to purchase the complete game.
So either Blizzard have a free-to-play version of Diablo III ready for launch, or one hell of a feature-rich demo on their hands.
