What the random injection of communism?? The story is either gonna be awesome or an american patriotic disappointment. Like Communism was given to humans by evil aliens and you sacrifice your self to destroy the planet so they don't invade earth or something.
OR a really good reference to the fear of the two competing sides during the cold war, like when the US feared that Russia was going to make orbital strikes when the US heard the USSR launched a man into space. Then through your journey your character realizes that both ideologies are neither good or bad, but just how each side perceives the best outcome for its own people, and that we are fools to think that we can force people to change their ideas because we think ours are better.

Either way that girl scares the crap out of me.
