Sixty GAME stores closed across Australia last week, resulting in 281 redundancies, as the struggling retailer looks to save what's left.

As a buyer is sought, a handful of stores across the country remain operational. Their futures are far from guaranteed, but for now, they remain open.

The one at Watergardens, Vic had a massive promo last week.

A lot of things were 40% off, excluding things that were already on promo, 3 for 2.

The entire store was on 3 for 2 promo, so, in the end nothing was 40%.

The stores I mention (Plumpton, Mt Druitt, St Marys) that I mostly go to are less than 10km from me. That's the good thing about living in Sydney. :D

How can the Elizabeth and Munno stores in S.A. still be open? [WTF] They are both literally within 2 minutes driving distance of each other, and I live >10 minutes from both of them.

Hopefully they won't be shutting any time soon, then. :P

I imagined that'd be one of the more profitable stores. Plumpton store staying open confuses me, but i guess the rent is so low there that they could sell 3 games and pay it off :P

Yeah I mostly go to the Plumpton store when I'm near, I know the store manager (Mike) since high school and I used to work with him in his previous job and I always say "Busy today?" as a joke since its empty everytime I go there but he always reply "Yeah sometimes it get busy then some days it's quiet". He says business is good.

Would have been better if there was some warning or way so we could have used our store credit, ( no being told you have to spend up to get to use 10% of it is not my idea of being able to use it.) We always save our sons up and he uses it on his birthday and had just on 12 months worth saved so was a real bummer. Very disapointed.
