Google I/0 is coming up and there's major signs that they're going to announce a new Android OS which will probably be called Jelly Bean. Apparently its not going to be a massive update in terms of features and it will be released with a rumoured Nexus Tablet that is also said to be manufactured by ASUS. This will be Googles first real attempt at trying to gain some market share in tablet space, which is currently being dominated by the iPad.
Leaked specs list:
7-inch 1280×800 IPS Display
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (not confirmed to be 5.0 just yet)
1.3GHz Quad-Core Tegra 3 CPU
12-Core ULP NVIDIA GPU
1GB RAM
8GB / 16GB Internal Storage
1.2MP Front Camera
9 Hours Battery Life
Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC
Pricing: The 8GB variant is expected to be $199; the 16GB variant will be $249. ( lets hope its this price in Australia!)
And it looks like the Galaxy Nexus will be receiving the update to Jelly Bean judging by the description of this purchase of that device on the Google Play Store in the USA. Looks like a Google employee may have jumped the gun with this announcement.
All will be known during Googles upcoming I/0 which begins this Thursday 2:30 am EST. Mind you, there will be many non Android related events during the I/0 also.
