Antti Stén and Tuomas Erikoinen, two key members of the Rovio team, have broken free of the oppressive Angry Birds series to create their own studio, Boomlagoon.
Stén was Rovio;s lead server architect, while Erikoinen was their lead artist, which outs Boomlagoon in a pretty nice position when moving forward on their first game.
The new studio will be focusing on games for web and mobile platforms, starting with HTML 5 titles.
"If we play our cards right, we just might end up with the next Angry Birds," Stén told Venture Beat during a recent interview.
