Watch Dogs confirmed for 2013 release

A post from the official Watch Dogs Twitter page has sparked further speculation over the mysterious new title from Ubisoft.

The post states "the game will be released in 2013 and will be on released on PC and consoles", yet no specific date is given. One can only assume that it will see a release in Q4 of 2013 - could this be in line with the next-generation of consoles from Microsoft and Sony?

From a visual and technical standpoint, it's not too farfetched to assume that Watch Dogs may very well be released on current and next-generation consoles next year.

i hope not. i dont see why everyone is so eager for a next-gen console. im happy with my xbox 360 and i dont wanna have to buy another console just to play the newer games. what's gonna be the difference between the next gen and current gen besides better graphics??? the graphics aren't even that bad now and i got no problem with them.

im happy with my current gen console and controllers thanks

I can see Uncharted 4, GT6 maybe, and Call of duty being launch titles for next-gen.

It'll all depend on the Wii U's success during its first six months or so. If it's dominating the market then you'd presume MS and Sony will be proactive and bring out their consoles in late 2013, if not I'd expect around March 2014.

You're implying the next generation revolves exclusively around how nice the games look. If the Wii has taught us anything, it's that graphics are merely a component in what makes a good game.

They'll be releasing it this gen, PC and next gen, hence they've been saying we'll be releasing it next year so we have a lot of time to see which consoles we'll be releasing it on.

But I'll be getting day one for PC.
