Command & Conquer Generals 2 has just been announced as a free-to-play title, and will be the first "universe" of a free-to-play service simply called Command & Conquer.
The game was originally announced at the VGAs as a full retail title coming from BioWare Victory. The title will launch next year, with the new free-to-play service allowing "gamers complete access to the cutting-edge visuals, sound and destruction of a full, AAA strategy game - for free," according to EA.
Interesting move from EA, we can't wait to see how it pans out.
