Electronic Arts is working on "three to five" new games series for the next generation of console, says EA Labels boss, Frank Gibeau.
Mr Gibeau said that new hardware presents "a huge opportunity" that will contribute to a "huge growth spurt" for the industry.
"The only thing that could really displace that is really high-end tablets and IPTV", he said, although he believes the latter is "further out than just a couple of years".
While the evolvement of those products is something that could be seen as a threat to publishers like EA, the company was intent on publishing "across all of them."
"We might ultimately find that to our advantage," said Mr Gibeau.
As for new IP, he believes the ideal time is to launch it "at the front-end of the hardware cycle", meaning we should expect plenty of new franchises as new hardware is launched.
