Facebook adding more 'core' games

Facebook wants to redefine what people think of its games by targeting 'core' gamers with FPS, RPG and RTS games.

Until now, Facebook has been a casual platform for games like Farmville, but that's neglected the more dedicated player.

The change of mindset will begin with ChronoBlade, a sci-fi action game that requires some serious dedication.

It's one of ten "high-quality third party games" planned to target more committed gamers alongside the family-friendly social games Facebook has become known for.

"It doesn't mean we're walking away from other games, but there's no question our focus for 2013, much of it, will be about becoming a better platform for core gamers and developers who make those games," Facebook's head of game partnerships Sean Ryan told Reuters.

Over a quarter of Facebook's 1.06 billion monthly users play games on the social network, making it one of the biggest online gaming platforms.

would be nice to see actual games but ill still avoid them :D
Well there are a few FPS games on facebook I.E Bravearms and its gone crap now mainly because there aren't many people playing the game and the developer has left it in beta form now. -_-
Pros and cons for this...

Gets people of all different ages engaged in gaming which I think is a good thing, so pro.

Con, it's still on Facebook. Also it will still want you to pay for content in game and as fb games go it will be riddled with bugs resulting in an incomplete gaming experience. For those older players that do put money into these games this just seems to be a scam imo.
