Back in 2010, Square Enix's latest entry to the 'Final Fantasy' universe, a dismal failure to launch properly of its next massively multiplayer online role-playing game title;
'Final Fantasy XIV Online' eventually and finally release only to be indubitably plagued with bugs and glitches to the point where it was unplayable. Inevitably receiving a very negative reception, and as it was, the title is to make its way onto the PlayStation 3 console.
Square Enix tried tirelessly to rectify the deeply tarnished state the game was in, though they failed to relaunch the game months after release. It was originally attempting to re-establish the game and its servers and rebooted as version
"2.0" late in 2011, though that evidently didn't eventuate therefore also extensively prolonging the delay of the PlayStation 3 platform version.
Today Square Enix announced the reboot of their promising MMO, eloquently re-titled;
'Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn'. Still a paid subscription based MMO that is reinvigorated and rebuilt from the ground up with new characters, new gameplay and new worlds to explore.
A new tantalizing trailer to reboot.

Essentially an almost entirely brand new game compared to the original condition it was in. Although no firm date has been announced for it's re-release, it is expected to be back online in November with beta testing to occur prior.
Should the reloading of the game be successful enough, the PlayStation 3 version will be released sometime thereafter.
