Recently at Comic-Con San Diego, Microsoft has revealed a brandnew trailer for Halo 4:Forward Unto Dawn.
Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a live-action webseries consisting of 5 episodes which will debut October 15th and run till Halo 4's release on november 6th 2012.
Set at the start of human and convenant war in the Halo universe, Dawn tells the story of cadets training to be the next generation of soldiers at the United Nations Space Command, UNSC, who is at war with rebels in the outer colonial planets.
Aside from marketing Halo 4, this series' goal is to introduce the franchise to people who are still unfamiliar with the games. 343 Industries franchise business management director, Matt McCloskey, said to Variety:
"make Halo accessible for people who haven't played the games. We wanted to do something unique from a narrative standpoint that's big in scale."
Microsoft adds to this that an extended, 90-minute Special Edition featuring additional footage and bonus content will be available Nov. 6 in the “Halo 4” Limited Edition and on video on-demand services.
