Steam Workshop support is coming to Left 4 Dead 2 in the middle of October according to the latest developer blog, just in time for Halloween. The system will allow players to rate and install community-created add-ons, including new maps, weapons, items and mutations.

While no specific release date has been announced they devs said mid-October as a launch point. Support will roll out for PC, Mac and Linux. Now we ask that you modders start creating this project so we can actually play it.

Excellent! There're already some really great community made mods and maps. It'll be fantastic when they're quicker and simpler to install.
