Following the ACT last month, NSW has become the second of the state and territories to pass the R18+ video games classification legislation.
While all of the states and territories have agreed to the new adults only rating, all still need to pass the individual state laws for it to become reality on the 1st of January.
When the laws come into effect, it will be an offence to sell an R18+ video game to a minor. Currently, the highest rating is restricted to those 15 years and above.
The R18 guidelines were made public last week. NSW passing the laws was reported by SMH.
