Sad news filtered through last night that the Melbourne-based THQ Asia-Pacific will close down in the coming months.
The distribution and marketing office has now suffered the same fate as the local development studios.
THQ's distribution and marketing in Australia will be handled by All Interactive Entertainment, the company who also distributes games from publishers including Bethesda and Capcom in Australia.
Until recently, THQ distributed Capcom games in Australia.
"We are delighted to broaden our relationship with a top publisher such as THQ," said Robert Kingston, Director of AIE. "We look forward to bringing THQ’s highly-anticipated new video game releases and existing game portfolio to our retail network in the territory."
MMGN wishes everyone affected at THQ all the best in their future endeavours. They've been a great team to work with and the local industry, particularly the smaller Melbourne-based scene, won't be the same without them.
