Hi i'm going to give a short review on Dead Island. I'm not quiet finished it yet but I’ll give you my thoughts on it so far.
Gameplay - 8/10
Well first off this is a fantastic game. It reminds me of Fable and GTA and borderlands. Tie those games together and throw in some zombies and BAM you got Dead Island. Fast pace, puzzles, side quests and driving.
Driving is a bit off putting as it stays in the first person view so it’s a bit hard to see out the window but then again its ment to look like you’re driving the car unlike in driving games you can change the view.
Being a fan of halo and other FPS the lack of radar makes you paranoid as you don’t know what’s around the next corner.
So far i’m loving the game it’s just a shame it’s not a split screen co-op game
Presentation & Sound - 7/10
Sound in the game is clear and real as it can be. The sound of the water, the zombie’s, the cars cars. Even the sound of you slicing off zombies head with a meat cleaver sounds real.
Presentation of the graphics of the game aint the greatest but still a great looking game. Yes some textures don’t load straight away and you get a blank looking NPC for a few seconds before the texture loads up but they look great. You kind of get use to seeing the texture 'pop in'' as you walk around the environment but still looks fantastic.
Overall Conclusion
Overall since i have not completed the game so far it’s got my hooked. I can’t wait to sit back down with my controller in hand and see where the story is going to take me next. I do love the presences of Aussie ascents in the game.
This game deserves a 8/10
